The Cape Breton Small Business Development Centre is pleased to present Anne Whelan, President and CEO of Seafair Capital and chosen the 2014 CEO of the Year for Atlantic Canada.  Click here for more information on Ms. Whelan.

Ms. Whelan will discuss the success of her companies in Newfoundland and Labrador which employ hundreds of people in a variety of locations in health and community care, industrial, hospitality and real estate.

As a member of the Board of Governors for the Atlantic Canada Economic Council, Ms. Whelan is aware of the current economic issues in our four Atlantic provinces. As an owner of businesses throughout her home province, she understands the issues of outmigration of workers, aging populations, and rural communities and what we can focus on collectively to deal with the changing nature of business in our area.

In addition, Ms. Whelan is a member of the Boards of Directors of the Newfoundland and Labrador Oil and Gas Industries Association (NOIA) and of Newfoundland Power.

She will address a luncheon on Thursday, September 25 at the Holiday Inn Sydney Waterfront Hotel at 12:00 noon which is open to the business community and the public. The cost is $35 with tax and gratuity included.

Tickets are available by contacting the Cape Breton Small Business Development Centre office at 562-2201 or by e-mail at angela@businesscapebreton.ca.
